The web is rapidly evolving from “pages” to “people”. This new social web is dynamic, real-time and massive. It is both a source of new information and the means in which relevant things on the “old” web are discovered and shared. Topsy is building and operates the world’s largest searchable index and real-time analytics platform for the social web. We love BIG data and thrive on solving complex engineering challenges. Our index is massive with over 100 billion documents and is doubling every 6 months. Our platform is designed to index over 1 million documents a second and is capable of searching and ranking billions of documents in milliseconds. We compute and index vast amounts of social metrics and analytics in real-time—everything from stats, counts, trends and audience exposure to advanced geo-location and sentiment. We do all of the heavy lifting to make it easy for businesses to derive meaningful realtime insights from the new web.
